The Music, Art and Travels of Alan D. Oldham a.k.a. DJ T-1000.

La Casa Acida, Mexico City, 9/15/07

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

Had a good time in Mexico City despite getting dicked by the promoter (he slipped out of the party while I was on the decks). Oh well. Sometimes it's just about bringing the music to people who appreciate it. They really know my tracks down there, too. "Thesis" is like "The Bells" in Mexico. Soon as I put it on, they went crazy. I played "Made to Phase" and they started chanting "T-1000!" A fun trip. Chalk it up to a paid vacation.

People selling drinks by side of the road.

Coacalco, a small town outside of Mexico City, where I actually played.

My face was all over the city.

Isn't she super-cute? Look at that face. All you single brothas, plenty of wife material in Mexico, you better get on it.

Autograph signing at clothing store Wonderland.

The asshole promoter who ripped me off. When you start having kids, forget throwing parties unless you can afford it.

That night, at the club.

Small but very enthusiastic crowd. The girls like it bangin' as you can see. This one almost took her clothes off.

Another Mexican hottie.

My set gets a thumbs up.

After the show.

Viva Mexico.

Yes, I have fans. I can't believe it myself. I stayed an extra hour just signing autographs and taking photos.

  • Hey! Just stumbled upon your blog after hitting up The Google (after listening to one of your bangin' sets from San Diego, July '05 I believe). Viva nice dj! You seem so real and down-to-earth, not like most other djs who think they are god's gift to the dancefloor. I remember hearing one of your sets live once upon a time, either here in Austin or down in Houston (maybe NOLA?), and remembering to log you in my favorite dj list. Those days seem so long ago. Keep it rockin' and I'll probably see you in Berlin, before Detroit! <3
